The Jack Project aims to become the new vision for stigma reduction and mental health support for emerging adults in Canada. We know that 50% of all mental health issues are in place at age 15, and 70% show up by age 24 - so the project will focus on the core of this age group (16-20), as these youth are about to leave home and transition to their next stage of life.
The project will be accomplished via two primary activities:
1) The rapid launch of a cutting edge microsite for emerging adults aged 16-20. The site will interact with youth on their terms and how they prefer to communicate today (via live chat, mobile app, and instant messaging). All interactions will be with the Kids Help Phone professionally trained counsellors.
2) Building on action already taken with Mental Health First Aid training at Queen's University and Jack?s high school, we will expand an outreach and awareness campaign to reach 300 high schools and 30 colleges and universities within 24 months.

Together we can combat the massive stigma associated with mental illness and improve the services for young people struggling with anxiety, depression and thoughts of suicide.
