Now, I know it can be hard (ok, seemingly impossible), to get started, especially if you’re not used to working out. Maybe you’re struggling with some extra weight, or are tired and sluggish, or can’t imagine getting out of bed earlier than 4 in the afternoon. You don’t have to run a marathon, you can take baby steps and work your way up to more challenging levels. You’re not competing against anyone, so the only thing that matters is that the amount of exercise you’re getting is enough, relative to yourself.
There are lots of things you can do and the key is to find something that you actually enjoy doing. Unless you’re somewhere in the Arctic or South Pole, chances are summertime is approaching for you. So get outside, go for a walk, a run, a bike ride, dust your roller blades off, go swimming, rafting, do some yoga, lift some weights, or whatever floats your boat! And if you get bored, switch it up! Change your activity, or take a different scenic route on your walk or hike, do it with a friend!
Plus, BONUS if you’re a Canadian teen aged 14-17 this summer: GoodLife is letting you work out in their gyms all across Canada for FREE!!!
So take advantage of the gym or the summer or both, but make sure to do SOMETHING, you’ll feel SOOOO much better for it!!!
And let us know how exercising helps you, what your favourite way to exercise is or maybe there’s something else that you do to feel better and healthy...share it with the rest of us!
