Yoga to Support Mental Health Week May 1-7

The Canadian Mental Health Association is holding their annual Mental Health Week from May 1st to May 7th, 2011. The theme for the week is 'Mental Health For All,' which represents the right for every Canadian to enjoy and have the best possible mental health.

To support this theme, Bethany Butzer, Ph.D., a London Ontario area Mental Health & Wellness Advisor has decided to raise money to provide free yoga classes to those in need. 

Bethany suffered from anxiety and depression in her early 20s, and she took antidepressants for 6 years. Yoga, along with psychotherapy and other resources, helped her immensely.

There is a growing body of research attesting to the beneficial effects of yoga on mental health. Unfortunately, not everyone has the resources to pay for a weekly yoga class. Bethany truly believes that everyone, regardless of their shape, size, income, or social status, should have access to yoga to maintain and enhance their mental fitness.

Help Bethany provide free yoga classes to those in need by making a donation before May 7th 2011.

Your donation will be used to provide free yoga classes to people in need at a very special studio within the London Ontario community: The Calmness and Peace Healing Centre & Yoga Studio.
