thinking about the new year….

E-mail Print PDF

Well, a new year is here. How do we feel about this? This is the time when many of us look back at the year that has just passed and reflect on it. We look at what we may have accomplished, or stuff that we never got around to doing. A year of good times? Bad times? Maybe changes, there’s always changes… Whatever… the year is over, and a new year presents us with a chance to start over, ditch the past, begin the new, and make changes in our lives.

Maybe your changes involve looking at current relationships that as hard as you try, it’s just not getting any better. Perhaps the job you’re in is just getting really old, and you’d like to do something different. Or maybe this is the year you’re going to FOR SURE backpack in Europe, talk to a friend you’ve lost contact with, or join that basketball team/ drama group/ get gym membership/ (insert choice here).

The bottom line is that we’re all given another chance, every New Year, to right last years wrongs, and do things better. It’s a chance to look towards the future and not the past. It’s a chance to look within ourselves, and decide what it is that really matters to us.

I’ve always loved the quote,
“What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us.”

To me, this means……
It’s all good.

reach out…….get help……..give help…….
