mindyourmind Street Team - Last Session!

E-mail Print PDF

The street team recently finished up. It was a blast, and I’m really sad it’s over. We’ve done so much in such a short time with the street team.

We helped out at a conference, were on the radio, and started designing posters. I thought all of those things made me more aware of mental health issues, and also just gave me some good experience with dealing with people.

At the street team we would always just start with a conversation as we waited for everyone to arrive.

For me this was fun, because we all just talked about random stuff and it was pretty easy going.

After that we would always do an icebreaker activity, which was also very fun. After those we would get to work. Even though we were working on some pretty important stuff, we always seemed to have a good time. We’d listen to music, talk, and play around while also getting the work done. This made going to mindyourmind every Wednesday very enjoyable.

For our last Street Team we had to finish up on our poster ideas. We picked two ideas that we liked and we played around with them a bit. We all were in agreement with the two choices. While we were discussing we ate some subs – courtesy of mindyourmind-. Once the posters were done we had to start thinking of the sorts of things we wanted on our page that we will have on the website. We answered a few questions that will appear and came up with some ideas for a layout. One of the questions was “If you were stuck on a deserted island and could only bring one thing what would it be?”, and of course Max said something funny like usual. He informed us that he’d take a pony to a deserted island. These sorts of things I will never forget.

Overall the experience being in the mindyourmind Street Team was amazing! It was such a fun, meaningful, and education thing to be a part of and I’m very glad I joined.

I look forward to hopefully doing more with mindyourmind in the future.
