After all the talk, buzz, televised hype and general craze around Apple’s latest device, I'm still trying to figure out exactly what purpose the iPad will serve in my daily life and why I would want one?

After some thought, my only conclusion is that I want one for entirely ridiculous reasons. I want one because it seems to hold the promise of all that might be good, right, and perfectly executed in the world of computing, media, and culture. The iPad has been portrayed like the Obama of devices: It's all hope, inspirational speech-making, intelligence, and good intentions.

But wait as we have most recently seen,(a year later) reality often outwieghs the above mentioned.  So after some additional thinking I'll wait for the second generation of the iPad.

Why do you want an iPad, if you even do?
