Canada’s National Parole Board: A legal FAILURE: Convicted sex offender Graham James walks.

I am outraged. Angry. Bewildered. In complete shock at what a complete failure our legal system is in Canada! A bold statement? What else can you call a legal system other than a shameful failure, a waste of tax dollars, when it fails to protect its children or bring justice to a man MONSTER that ruined the lives of what is claimed to be hundreds of young boys?? Although only 4 individuals have come forward to date to accuse James: NHL players Sheldon Kennedy, Theo Fleury, and 2 others that remain un-named, Kennedy and Fleury, both recall many others in their books about the abuse. James pleaded guilty to 2 of the accusations, those of Kennedy and the first of the un-named victims. What does he get? A conviction of 3 ½ years in prison. They might as well have sent him on vacation. Or given him a prize, a medal, a “Congratulations, you’re a pedophile, but instead of punishing you, we’re gonna give you a free life! One up for you Graham James!” Did they run out of room in jail? If our tax dollars don’t pay to keep perpetrators like James behind bars, what do they pay for? Apparently, for their pardon.

His latest accuser, the other un-named individual, states in a recent interview that, “To say that the parole-board process has been abused would be a grotesque understatement...Here you have an incredibly high-profile pedophile – and there's no other word to use to describe him – who clearly has not been able to take responsibility or show any accountability for his actions.”

Even if it was only 1 person that was molested, let alone several, and perhaps more victims than we can imagine or will ever know about, what kind of society sentences a crime as heinous as rape in a way that is LESS severe than theft??

In criminal law, “if the thing stolen is worth more than $5000 or is a testamentary instrument the offence is commonly referred to as Theft Over $5000 and is an indictable offence with a maximum punishment of 10 years imprisonment.”

Somehow, for some inexcusable reason, James’ crimes were not seen as worse than theft. Did he not steal something valued higher than $5000? Did he not take something from his victims that was priceless and irrecoverable?

If you're as outraged as I am, share your thoughts, get a petition started, voice your opinion!
