Week 2 (July 3, 2008)

This week the Get Real team got to know each other a little bit better. We found out on a map where each person on the team lived and developed some rules for our group. Some of the rules that the group came up with were that people should: be respectful, listen to others, keep an open mind, have an equal chance to contribute, encourage others to share and keep things shared confidential. This was a great way to get to know each other a little better, with learning where each person was from and make sure that we are on the same page, with the rules.

I found this session to be quite interesting as at the beginning everyone mentioned a little bit about themselves and what they wanted to see with this project. All of us were chosen to contribute to this project for a reason because of our diversity and special talents and I look forward to finding out more about everyone as the weeks continue. It is neat to hear what everyone is doing and how different we all are. It is great that all of us can come together for a common interest, to learn more about mental illness and helps alleviate stigma. I feel very privileged to have been chosen for this project along with so many other talented youth and look forward to future sessions.
