On Monday, March 21st, the get real project team got together for the first official time to get the wheels rolling on the project.
We started off by taking some time and introducing one another and getting familiar with where about everyone is from. It’s defiantly pretty neat getting to work on one project with other youth from all over the province!
After taking a few minutes to go over some guidelines and brainstorming of how we can incorporate fun and coordination into the project as a group and looking at some previous examples of similar projects, we jammed out with a super wicked ice-breaker type of game. It was set up as though ‘jeopardy’ like, with its own mental health twist to it. We separated into two teams: The Wolverines and The Biwinning. The game was fun and informative – defiantly got us thinking. And with a close score, Biwinning won the round. Great job to everyone though!
We closed off with a bit of a brainstormer to get us thinking about the question “What do youth worry about?” We’ve come across some pretty interesting ideas and points; the discussion went very well.
For our first meeting, time came close to a wrap up. Everyone seemed to be very friendly. Something tells me, the next few weeks on which we will be working on this project will defiantly be filled with loads of fun. I’m very glad I was able to be part of such an awesome project – as I’m sure everyone else on the team would back me up on that one.
Until next time, yours truly,
Kamilla.
