In preparation for mindyourmind’s International Youth Day Mash Up, Max (mindyourmind’s Youth Outreach Assistant and self-titled ‘collector of cool’) has been hard at work finding awesome companies who are willing to donate prizes for the young people who attend the event on August 12th. In this series of blogs he will share some of the companies he has found, and give a little bit of an idea about what they are donating and why it is important for youth. Enjoy!
The mindyourmind office has been buzzing around our International Youth Day Mash Up, and it seems like every day we are getting something new into the office. Just the other day we had some surprise visitors in the office who decided they wanted to join us for our celebrations on the 12th. These are the Sperels, and they are a race of winged creatures who were previously enslaved to work in mines, but have been saved by a group of righteous Sperel-lovers (headed by Mr. Orion Sperelman who first discovered the creatures). The Sperels now freed from captivity have descended upon mindyourmind in order to find themselves a new home at our event!
International Youth Day has a lot to do with acceptance and appreciating those who are around you, being able to cheer on someone that you may not know, but who needs your support all the same. And the same can be said of these Sperels, they are looking for a new home and for someone who appreciates them (and their undeniable cuteness) to help bring them home!
So if you’re attending mindyourmind’s International Youth Day Mash Up be on the lookout for these little guys as they may fly across the room towards you, make sure to take them home and enjoy just how cuddly they are (and also what they have come to represent)
If you can’t wait until the event, you can always adopt a Sperel here: www.sperel.org
