For my latest Max’s #IYD2012 Prize Round Up I wanted to highlight a few of the awesome prizes that we have received for International Youth Day! International Youth Day is coming up on August 12th, and we are all very excited for the opportunity to celebrate youth in our communities and what they are capable of when they come together. These prizes have been generously donated by companies from all over the globe, and we want to make sure everyone knows what they’re getting if they attend the event. Here are a few of the choice ones we want to show off this week!
Modify Watches are described as “fashionable, flexible, modifiable, and DOPE”, they’re a watch face which comes with customizable straps to collect which can be used for any occasion! We wanted to show that the youth who participate and attend our International Youth Day Mash Up are as versatile as these watches and are capable of doing so much for themselves or the community, so why not give out a product just like them! Pura Vida bracelets are a company who make bracelets straight from Costa Rica. On a vacation the owners met a local artisan who made bracelets which they fell in love with, and soon enough they formed a business partnership that allowed this once poor artisan to now support him and many others comfortably. These are bracelets for a message, and youth should always be conscious of how the things they own are affecting the world positively, and that’s what these bracelets do. (puravidabracelets.com)
Fu-Design Store is the thoughts and imagination of Fu who is currently a robot illustrator living in New York City. He was generous enough to donate a bunch of hats, iphone cases and tablet sleeves to our event. His designs are unique, humorous and youthful, and for someone living out their dreams of design and illustration it is especially meaningful to be a part of our event to share what he has created with youth at International Youth Day. All these businesses were kind enough to donate to our event, and it speaks a lot to how much people appreciate youth in communities locally and worldwide. If people are donating products to this event to support youth, it shows that they have faith in what youth are capable of and how they really can change the world. So come to mindyourmind’s International Youth Day Mash Up and help celebrate what youth are capable of doing, and also have the chance to win some awesome prizes!
