From London, Ontario, The Scenario’s drummer, Jason Longo, takes a moment to talk to us about the band and their aspirations! Check it!...
mym: What inspired you to form a band?
Jason Longo (JL): I’ve been in bands pretty much my whole life, same goes for the rest of the dudes in the band, we love music! Also we all are music fans and I’ve always wanted to be Big u call it or whatever like Motley Crue haha! It’s also a good outlet and very fun...
mym: When was the first time you realised that music was what you wanted to do for life?
JL: It’s been a dream of mine forever... I can remember when I was a little kid cruisin’ in my dad’s hot rod, cranking Led Zeppelin and being like, “man I wanna be like these guys, touring the world, Givin ’er!” So that what I’m gonna do!
mym: What are your rehearsals generally like?
JL: They are fun and serious at the same time...we get together, have a couple relaxers and play out the tuners! We also work hard on our stage show now and our set for live shows!
mym: Do you have a set time each week in which you practice or are rehearsals more spontaneous?
JL: Yeah, we jam every week no matter what. Also, Dave and Ryan get together a lot to write and work on new songs...then we all jam them out and write as a band. It’s a sweet way to do it, I think. Works well for us!
mym: Who writes the songs?
JL: The original ideas come from Ryan, the riffs u call them, haha! Ryan and Dave work on the lyrics together. We all have input in the songs, which is awesome because there are a lot of different influences coming into a song!
mym: What are they about?
JL: They are about different life experiences we have been through and different scenarios we’ve gotten ourselves into, haha!! The new single ‘Hard to Come Home’, is about our good friend who is overseas fighting for our country, so it’s a personal song for every member in this band!
mym: What is your best memory from performing gigs?
JL: So many good memories! One of them would have to be playing The Mod Club in Toronto for the 1st time! Awesome stage sound and the lights are Amazzzing! We have a great time playing there, many more to come too, yee!
mym: What else do you enjoy doing besides playing music?
JL: Playing NHL for play station haha...hanging out with good buds, having a wild party!
mym: What do you hope your music will inspire others to do?
JL: To have a good time and dance! Also, you only live once, so enjoy it while you’re here!
mym: What are the biggest challenges you are facing as a band right now?
JL: One would be getting our name out there and playing more shows, which we’re working on hard!
mym: What is the greatest advice anyone has given you?
JL: To never give up and believe in yourself and your band!
mym: What are your dreams and goals for your band?
JL: I want to enjoy the music and love the dudes I’m playing with, also be the Biggest Rock Band Ever haha!! U2 baby! I want to tour with a huge band around the world, Scenario! Go get our new EP that’s out too!
mym: Do you have any words to live by?
JL: Party and enjoy music! The Scenario...
