Blaqk Audio

Blaqk Audio, music, band, interview Electronica combined with Davey Havok’s poetic lyricism is Blaqk Audio, the side project of Havok and Jade Puget of A.F.I. Their debut album, CexCells was released August 14, 2007. The lyrical content holds true to its title, and explores different sexual themes and relationships.

Not knowing that the album was produced and engineered by David Bascombe, producer of Depeche Mode, I commented on the similarity between Blaqk Audio and Depeche Mode. They are both dark, dancey and heightened with emotion.

In mentioning Davey’s numerous projects that he has worked on through the years, it completely slipped my mind to mention to Davey how totally fantastic it would be if he published a book of poetry. Some of my favourite poetry books are written by musicians, such as Jewel and Billy Corgan. I’m almost certain Davey’s would be among one of the best as well.
