| Do What We Do - Portugal. The ManI previously featured Portugal. The Man a while back, saying that there songs encapsulated a very retro vibe that had a definite swagger to it. Well I'm happy to say that it hasn't escaped them on their latest album! American Ghetto, which was released early last March may be more electronic then their last effort, but is just as catchy and awesome as everything else they've made. A certain cut that piqued my interest was the track "Do What We Do", which bounces along with an insanely catchy chorus and a very intimate vibe that will have you humming along all day! This is the one you can't pass up on for sure. |
| Trying to Put Your Heart Back Together - Slow RunnerKeeping with the indie vibe of the previous choice, I'd also like to take this time to shine a spotlight on the gem of a song. Sure, it's not filled with weird robotic beat boxing or high quality, expensive studio trickery like most music nowadays. But what it is, is a nice little acoustic track, that isn't for the ears that dig flowery production, but for those who are looking for something more raw. In all honesty, I don't normally go for this music, but something about this song really made me stop and think, listen, and ultimately enjoy! So take a little time off from the Bieber and give Slow Runner a try. |
| Brick by Boring Brick - ParamoreOh Paramore! Let's not pigeonhole you just yet! The same band that penned the scathing lyrics in "Misery Business" about teenage girls (who aren't so nice) are back! And they've matured quite a bit. "Brick By Boring Brick" doesn't have an instantly catchy chorus, but it will grow on you with time. So give it a couple spins, and then you'll see why growing up feels just so right. |
![]() | Animal - Neon TreesOkay so back to the flowery production! The song "Animal" by Neon Trees is everything you would want from a pop-rock song! Electronic drum beats, biting guitars, and a sweet sweeping chorus (complete with "oh-oh's" and all!) It's probably for the best if you catch onto this band soon, because only big things will be coming there way in the near future! |
![]() | Say Aah - Trey SongzSo I haven't really been feeling anything on the rap side at the moment, but this song has got my attention. Not only does it have a sweet beat, it couples a nice catchy chorus with simply addictive lines. Trey Songz has a way with words, and no doubt this tune will have many people singing along with him. |
