Disappear - Motion City Soundtrack Motion City Soundtrack have been around for a while. In fact, their latest release is only one of four albums they’ve out out. But this one is different, as it is the first on a major label. Now when many think of a major label they think of corporate sell-out rock, but Motion City Soundtrack has done just the opposite. This blistering first single from their album My Dinosaur Life has vicious guitars and a heart racing vocal delivery. The album explodes into a super-catchy hook that’ll have you trying to re-create lead singer Justin Pierre’s passionate singing.

Jane Doe - Never Shout Never Cristofer Ingle, otherwise known as his musical project Never Shout Never is loved by basically every single girl that comes across his tunes. The song “Jane Doe”, which sounds an awful lot like Jason Mraz’s hit over the summer features light acoustic guitar in an airy space of “boy I sure do love love sometimes right gals?” Yeah, but the length of the song is short enough that it doesn’t become grating on the nerves, but rather will have you humming along as you walk down the street - especially this time of year, with Valentine’s day coming close.

It’s The Mornin - Robin Thicke The king of the croon, Robin Thicke is back at it again. This light song starts off with strokes of a cappella into a horn section that can’t help but love. The beat and the light harmonies of Mr. Thicke will have any girl swooning, and any guy bobbing his head trying to sing along. And in case you didn’t think there was enough “cred”, Snoop Dogg jumps in on it to provide a verse just as swoon worthy as my friend Robin. Prepare to love!

Kings and Queens - 30 Seconds To Mars So if you aren’t looking to be swept off your feet by a young man with an acoustic guitar, or an R&B maverick. Might I suggest a little epic anthem for you then? Because that’s where 30 Seconds To Mars comes in. Jared Leto’s vehicle for success right now, with their latest album, paints a picture of a shiny, scary world ready for war. This song, albeit long (clocking in at almost six minutes), never loses it’s intensity as it explodes every single time into it’s chorus. It’ll have you wanting to run full speed into the sunset (might I suggest a marathon in your near future?)

Pretty Wings - Maxwell Every now and again you have to throw in a little something obscure and tranquil. This song is the perfect fit with it’s lush arrangements and classic R&B stylings. It’s no wonder this guy is a grammy nominated artist, hearing the bouncing vocals and the wonderful orchestration. If you’re just looking for something to play in the background, or mellow out to, might I suggest this one?
