| | Hey Baby, Here’s That Song You Wanted - Blessthefall For the most part I wouldn’t consider myself a fan of heavy-metal or screamo, albeit the occasionally exceptions here and there (Alexisonfire, Chiodos.) Blessthefall has recently become one of the latest exceptions though when I first heard there song “Hey Baby, Here’s That Song You Wanted”, especially when the explosive chorus finally hits it is so hard to ignore that even the biggest wallflower can’t help but raise there hands in the air and sign along. |

| | Big Apple Big Heart - Craig Owens Most likely the name Craig Owens doesn’t ring a bell for mainstream music listeners, but anybody that considers themselves and indie or punk aficionado knows this entire guy’s handbook. He is a man of many faces as he’s been apart of many successful groups and has a lot of side projects going on at once. His latest effort is with his solo career, featuring the song “Big Apple Big Heart” a peaceful ode to moving away and finding out one’s destinies. It’s nice to hear him just with an acoustic guitar as most are familiar with him screaming and shredding his vocal chords on intense guitar riffs, what a nice change of pace. |

| | Already Home (featuring Kid Cudi) - Jay-Z On my last entry I mentioned the next big thing to come into the rap game, Kid Cudi. This time around I’m mentioning him thanks to his stellar hook on Jay-Z’s “Already Home”, off his latest gem The Blueprint Three. This song’s beat bounces just as much as Cudi’s voice and Jay’s delivery does, it’s light while being meaningful and biting to all those who doubt us and try to bring us down. As MTV’s latest number one “Hottest MC In The Game”, Jay-Z proves it on this track with clever lyrical sentiments (“I’m in the hall already/on the wall already/I’m a work of art, I’m a Warhol already.”) |

| | Dreaming Of Heaven - Carter Husley Part of what I do for my writing about music is patrol myspace for hours on end trying to find the next big thing and help with their making it in the industry. The latest artist that I’ve been fascinated with on while scrolling aimlessly page after page is a young man by the name of Carter Husley. His song “Dreaming Of Heaven” is a peaceful, passionate ode to love and is truly beautiful in every way possible, from the light acoustic guitar and soft piano notes. Carter is an artist to be on the look out for, and you won’t be disappointed by this track. |

| | This Isn’t Love - Nocturnal Me Recently this summer on of my favorite bands of all time Cute Is What We Aim For called it a day, and left me with very little to hope for in my iPod’s future. Luckily the bassists (and solo star) Dave Melillo and guitarist Jeff Czum of Cute Is What We Aim For decided to form a band called Noturnal Me, thus saving my and my iPod’s livelihood. Their song “This Isn’t Love” is a great example of dance-tinged pop-punk and leaves much to be expected from this up-and-coming band, make sure to check out these young men before they are headlining stadiums everywhere. |
