She’s Got A Boyfriend Now - Boys Like Girls

Something like two years ago the band Boys Like Girls dropped their debut album and shook up the pop rock world and they exploded onto the charts and television sets across the continent. Now they are back with their much anticipated sophomore album Love Drunk, and with a song like “She’s Got A Boyfriend Now” and their falsetto tinged choruses and light rhythms, this song will make you regret that you didn’t make the most of your summer on the road and blaring this song loud from the stereo.

Anywhere But Here - Mayday Parade

Who’s Mayday Parade you ask? Well they are the princes of melodramatic pop-punk. Every single girl with black eye shadow at your school knows who they are and every lyric they’ve ever sung. Now they are back after quite some time since their debut with a new single “Anywhere But Here”. The song is an example of exactly what the band can do right: melancholy lyrics, dark guitar riffs and an explosive chorus that is sure to hook any fan of pop-punk. This bands latest major label deal will guarantee themselves a spot on every teenager’s playlist that loves a nice broken hearted love song.

Sasha Don’t Sleep - The Dance Party

Let’s be honest, there’s very little in this world that is more exciting then growing up with a band from the time that nobody knows them to the point that they are bigger then ever. Coming across The Dance Party on myspace a couple years ago, I pegged them as a band that had all the right traits to be a massive hit. Really slick riffs, great rock star appeal and a voice that couldn’t fail made this band and their debut a winner. Now they have a new song in “Sasha Don’t Sleep” that increases their ability to party, from the opening “yeah!” to the chorus of “it’s what she lives for/kissing on the dance floor/Sasha oh you got your eye on me/Sasha oh I know you don’t sleep” The Dance Party have all the right moves and a hit on their hands.

Mr. Right - A Rocket To The Moon

Isn’t growing up cute? The techno one-man band A Rocket To The Moon has evolved into a full band of country-tinged pop junkies. And with their latest single “Mr. Right” off their debut On Your Side (due in stores this October), the band is taking their knack for catchy hooks and heart on their sleeves attitudes to new heights with a song that echoes “Maybe I’m your Mr. Right/Maybe I’m the one you like”, watching a band make their way into new territory like this is just to charming, welcome to the new addiction folks.

Pursuit Of Happiness (featuring Ratatat & MGMT) - Kid Cudi

Every now and again it’s good just to be able to kick your feet up and not to have a single care in the world. To avoid all the stress and hustle of our every days lives and just watch it pass by. These are moments to be cherished, and rightfully so through the song “Pursuit Of Happiness” by Kid Cudi (and assisted by techno demi-gods Ratatat and high-profile indie rockers MGMT), which swaggers along through a hazy chorus and care-free lyrics courtesy of hip-hop’s newest prince. Also, keep an ear out for the dazed and confused guitar solo near the end of the song and wish you were at Woodstock (the original, not the lame revivals).
