Saraƒin is a Toronto area cartoonist, mad pride activist, and illustration student. Her online webcomic, 'Asylum Squad', was started during a year-long stay on a schizophrenia ward, as a means of passing time, and as a means of therapeutic expression. 44 comic strips later, Saraƒin was discharged from hospital, and continued creating her comics during her free time. She still updates the series regularly, to this day.
Saraƒin has been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, but does not like to use psychiatric labels to define herself. She has used both conventional and alternative medicine for healing.
