Walk a mile in my shoes
and see what it’s like to lose
to sweat, and bleed, and at the end
have to choose whether it’s dinner
or the hydro bill.
See the world through my eyes
we’re surrounded by lies
infesting our lives and destroying
everything we believe in,
and telling us that we will make it
when we wont
because you have to fake it
and you’re so sick of these rules
this world is just too cruel
it takes the heart right out of your chest
and chews it up,
and chews it up,
and chews it up again
when you’re back on your feet
it’ll take you out at the knee
and leave you no space to breathe
So maybe I’m a stupid man
who picks up the pieces
of a life I want to live
and a delusion I keep pursuing
and maybe I’m stupid to believe
in anything but the fact that we’re dying
But I guess that’s what I get for not finishing High school.
