My Sisters’ Place at WOTCH Community Mental Health Services, cares for the most vulnerable and marginalized members of our community. Opened in 2004, My Sisters’ Place is a unique program in London offering practical and emotional support and community services to women who are at risk with a variety of issues such as:
- mental health
- isolation
- extreme poverty
- homelessness
- substance use
- violence/abuse
Objective
My Sisters’ Place is a woman’s transitional support centre that supports women, who are homeless and/or marginalized, on their continuum to stability. Independence and an enhanced quality of life are achieved by meeting women’s needs and building a strong community together.
Alumni mindyourmind staff, Brenda, interviewed some of the women at My Sisters' Place about their struggles.
