chip away at my tough exterior
cut me down to size
see if you can work it all out
in paper and pen
blue prints for my life
i’m just a block of stone
wood
clay
metal
twist and bend me
work me to your will
and see if you can make me into something worthy
cut me
break me
sew and stitch me up
paint and powder me
and see if you can make me into something worthwhile
pound me to bits
and then glue me back together
upside down
inside out and backwards
and see if you can make me worth your time
worth your trouble
make me into art
on canvas and easel
cardboard and steel
flesh and blood
use your words
your emotions
your love and above all your hate
and see if you can make me into something
beautiful
cracks in the wall
i’m feeling a little fragile right now
i’ve tripped and scratched my knees
and now i’m cracking at the seams
excuse me miss, can you look in my eyes?
do they look broken to you?
because they seem to be leaking quite a lot lately
i’d like the landlord over here please, this leak is getting to be extreme
i had a nervous break but it’s broken down
do you mind if i borrow yours for awhile?
i’ll try not to break that one too
but please just watch where you step, i think i lost a piece of mind on the
way in
because i’m just feeling so fragile and the fact that you really don’t seem
to care too much
well…that makes me feel brittle
i need some glue please
or even some staples and tape
i need to put myself back together and start over
