The holidays can increase stress and you might find yourself in need of a little extra support. For Day Three of our 12 Days of Resources we want to highlight three services; one for mental health support, one for drug and alcohol and one for problem gambling.
Free, confidential, live 24/7 chat for anyone feeling like they need support. The Drug and Alcohol Helpline, 1-800-565-8603, provides information about drug and alcohol addiction services in Ontario. A helpful Information and Referral Specialist will answer your call, email or web chat 24/7.
They can:
- Provide information about treatment services and supports in your community
- Listen, offer support and provide strategies to help you meet your goals
- Provide basic education about drug and alcohol problems
The Mental Health Helpline, 1-866-531-2600, provides information about mental health services in Ontario. The service is live 24/7, confidential and free. A helpful Information and Referral Specialist will answer your call, email or web chat 24/7.
They can:
- Provide information about counselling services and supports in your community
- Listen, offer support and provide strategies to help you meet your goals
- Provide basic education about mental illness
The Ontario Problem Gambling Helpline, 1-888-230-3505, provides information about problem gambling services in Ontario. The service is live 24/7, confidential and free. A helpful Information and Referral Specialist will answer your call, email or web chat 24/7.
They can:
- Provide information about counselling services and supports in your community
- Book your first appointment with a treatment provider
- Listen, offer support and provide strategies to help you meet your goals
- Provide basic education about gambling problems
