Here are 3 free certificates/courses you can complete if you are looking to continue your mental health and addictions education:
The Be There certificate was created by Jack.org in response to a nationwide survey they conducted. Through this survey, they identified the need for a more accessible resource that could help guide individuals in supporting friends and family that may be struggling with their mental health. The course is split into 6 sections and can be completed within 2hrs. You can register for it by creating an account on the website. You will receive a certificate of completion.
CAMH offers a multitude of free courses that you can take to learn or improve your knowledge of mental health and addictions. They have 6 courses that cover topics from Mental Health 101 to How to Empower Families Affected by Substance Use. Courses are available in French and English. To register for the course you have to create a free account.
Created by the Canadian Centre for Substance Use and Addiction, this 3 part course focuses on the stigma associated with substance use. It provides you with tangible action items that you can incorporate into your personal and professional life to work towards destigmatizing substance use and addiction. You do not have to register for this course.
