Aboriginal comic books on The Healthy Aboriginal Network

The Healthy Aboriginal Network is an amazing resource that shares comic books about health and social issues like suicide, mental health and gang awareness. I read the one about suicide, called 'Darkness Calls', about a boy who is bullied at school and mistreated by his teachers. Feeling isolated and sad, he contemplates suicide, but with some help, he finds his way out of the darkness. I thought it was really neat that the comic book was written from an Aboriginal viewpoint and includes a lot of cultural aspects. You can order your own copies, or just check them out on the site. Also, check out their youtube account, where you can find animated videos, with some of them in the native language of the Gitxsan indigenous people of British Columbia, Gitxsanimaax. The stories are all genuine and authentic - check them out for yourself.
