CSC Adventures: April 2022

Spring has arrived and although April in Canada is not always the warmest, the weather shift was great for our team! We spent most of this month preparing for our 12th Design Lab and we are so happy to be back in person for the first time since 2019! WOW! What a ride the pandemic has been, and although we’re not quite done with the restrictions it’s been a breath of fresh air to plan in-person events again.

At the end of this month, our team will be headed to Montreal, Quebec to partner with The Refugee Centre. Alongside them, we will be working with a group of newcomer youth to create a new mental health resource!

Another exciting piece of news that we wanted to share is that we have translated our Thrive journal into Braille! At mindyourmind, we are committed to improving the accessibility of our tools so more young people can benefit from them. Whether you have a disability or not, we all have mental health. As a mental health program, it is up to us to improve the way we speak about wellness, so everyone can be included.

We are so excited to offer this book to Blind and visually impaired youth and are eager to continue our accessibility efforts beyond this translation. Thrive in Braille is currently in production and should be available soon.

Special shoutout to Douglas from Motivate Canada for helping us make this happen!
