Ideas with Impact: Centering Youth in Innovation, Design and Development

We are excited to share our most recent co-design work in partnership with Frayme! Join us in an upcoming webinar to learn more about this project and the importance of centring youth voices in the innovation, design, and development of mental health solutions.

In 2022, we joined forces with Frayme to lead a Hackathon Program and provide youth with an opportunity to share their ideas for systems change. Earlier this year, they asked the youth participants and their youth Groundbreakers to vote between two of the top ideas that came out of the 2022 Ideathon and 2021 Hackathon. The purpose was for mindyourmind to then incubate the highest-voted idea with some of the youth participants.

We facilitated a Design Incubator which took place over the course of nine online sessions. The ten youth participants were passionate advocates from across Canada who were part of either the Hackathon or Ideathon. Our Design Incubator was guided by design thinking principles to help us co-create an actionable prototype to support youth transitioning into adult mental health care.

In the webinar, we will discuss what this process looked like and the lessons we learned along the way. Some of the youth involved will also share the developed prototype and their experiences in designing solutions influenced by their lived expertise.

The webinar is on May 30, 2023 at 3:00 pm EDT and you will need to register using the Zoom link
