Shine App: Start Your Day Off Right
I recently stumbled upon the Shine app, I’ve used it for a few months now and it’s so great I had to share it with you! Shine sends you a daily motivational text and then it prompts you to check in. When you check in there is a topic for the day, they usually have two short articles about that topic (that they also summarize). The articles are short and interesting, they really make me think. Following that they ask you to fill in what you are grateful for and what you will do to feel good that day. After you go through this process you have the chance to listen to a mindful moment.
Overall I really like this app, it makes self care fun. They cover really relatable topics like staying healthy while dating online, beating imposter syndrome and getting over that midweek slump. Also it tracks how many days in a row you have checked in. I find that motivates me to continue. Also that app is free, you are able to pay and upgrade, but the free parts are really great! I would recommend this app if you are trying to integrate mindfulness and gratitude into your life. It’s an easy way to get started and it doesn’t feel overwhelming.
If you don’t want to commit to downloading the app just yet check out the website. They have lots of great articles under the advice column, which will give you a taste of what to expect with the app.
