#TBT: CSC Oakville, ON Design Lab, September 2022
With our latest Design Lab underway (stay on the lookout for what our youth participants come up with this time!), let's take a look back at our Design Lab with the Oakville youth from September 2022.
The mindyourmind team collaborated with 16 high school students in Oakville, ON, partnering with the Halton Catholic District School Board. Together, they created three interactive zines: 'Emotions' focused on core emotions and coping strategies, 'Mindfulness' contained self-reflection activities, and 'How to Survive When Life Hands You Lemons' explored supporting friends and discussing mental health. The project aimed to address important and relevant issues for youth, such as self-care, talking about mental health with parents and caregivers, and school stress. The zines were designed to make these topics engaging and accessible. Learn more about the CSC Oakville, ON Design Lab, September 2022!
mindyourmind has been around for almost two decades, and we have pretty neat stuff in our history. The idea of Throwback Thursdays (#TBT) started because we want to share this past content and some memorable moments too. When it comes to the mental health landscape, some things have stayed the same, while others continue to evolve.
Stay tuned for our next #TBT
Rehnuma joined mindyourmind in 2023 as the Marketing Content Creation Intern as incoming junior from Huron University College. She hopes to work in public policy one day. Cooking, thrifting, crocheting and re-rewatching Arrested Development are some of her current hobbies
