Time to Think During Social Distancing

During this period of social distancing we are all shifting to do our part to stay healthy which means staying in more than going on. A slowed down pace opens the door to lots of different thoughts and feelings to arise. It’s weird to feel things move into a slower pace, in some regards, and on the opposite side of that slower pace is feeling frantic. It can feel overwhelming and confusing! Those are two pretty different experiences to have, so feeling them at the same time is hard to figure out. Social media doesn’t help as it’s filled with mixed messages and too many opinions to read, watch or listen to.

For all of us sensitive types, finding ways to stay positive and balanced is an extra struggle. This atmosphere of social distancing can downright shift our vibe into much lower and heavier space; like going down a rabbit hole you’d rather avoid if possible. Being in that space means we have to call deep on our strength and take the time to make sure we are taking care of ourselves. We may find ourselves struggling with the relationships in your life as many of us are in close quarters with others. Or maybe we are noticing things for the first time, as we are living at a slowed down pace. Try your best to be still and figure out what exactly is going on in that mind of yours. Journal. Limit social media. Take a bath. Set a boundary. Dance. Have a laugh. Read a book. Write a book!

Every day we have the choice to learn more about who we are, and why we are the way we are… take this period of social distancing to get back into touch with who YOU are. Remind yourself that this too shall pass… and let this begin to fuel your goals for when we can all return to our daily lives. In the meantime, be kind to yourself.
