Tree Hugging in the 21st Century
Smartphones, laptops, tablets, smart TVs- evidence, for some, that we are disconnected from the natural world. Interestingly, a recent initiative from the city of Melbourne is proving this theory wrong. The city created emails for 70,000 trees in the city so that people could report sickly trees. The project took on a whole new life when people began to use the email addresses to write directly to the trees.
ABC News compiled some of these letters. Some are funny, some are thoughtful and some are a bit weird but they are definitely worth a read!
This story shows how important it is to notice the little things. It brings you joy and it might start a chain reaction! Check them out, get inspired. How can you show your local trees some love?
The idea of Feel Good Fridays started because, we believe the simple things that bring a smile to our face, are some of the best things. Smiling and laughing has been proven to reduce stress in our lives! When we smile or laugh it releases neurotransmitters in our brain called endorphins, which are in charge of making us happy and helping to relieve stress.
