Western Fundraises for mindyourmind... 2019 Addition!
Again this year we were contacted by Alan from the Faculty of Kinesiology, at the University of Western Ontario, to support reaching out to first year students around mental health and self care. The students continued to connect with students in first year to support with the transition from secondary to postsecondary education, as this transition can be challenging.
Students from the Kinesiology Students Associationwere stationed in the University Community Centre to connect with students and distribute palm cards that provide information on reducing anxiety and grounding techniques. In addition to the distribution of the informational palm cards, students were divided into teams to compete in a stair climb and fundraising challenge. The students raised over $3000 for mindyourmind through collecting pledges and donations.
It is so incredible to see so many passionate mental health advocates sharing awareness and supports with their peers!
Thank you again to the students and faculty of the Kinesiology Students Association for your continued support!
We look forward to working with them again in 2020!
