Feel Good Friday: 15 (P)interesting Thanksgiving Fails

Scarlett has been volunteering with mindyourmind since 2012 and is now a member of the staff team. As a Psychology graduate from King's University College at Western, she is passionate about all things related to the subject and is a proud mental health advocate. She also loves playing sports, spending time outdoors in the countryside, hanging out with friends and family, and playing board games.

Holidays aren’t always easy, for numerous reasons. But there’s nothing like seeing some failed pinterest attempts to make us feel a little better about our own Thanksgivings not going quite to plan. It can be hard to laugh in the moment, but refer back to these this weekend if you get frustrated with something not turning out how you imagined!

Maybe these things won’t even be a concern for you this weekend because perhaps you won’t be celebrating or visiting family - maybe Thanksgiving is anything but traditional for you. In that case, take this as a reminder that sometimes it’s just about the little things that give us a chuckle or distract us from the situations and feelings that we aren’t exactly thankful for.

If you’re struggling to be overflowing with thankfulness right now, that’s okay.  It doesn’t mean you’re completely ungrateful! It means what I said: you’re struggling. I just hope you will always find little things to make you smile now and again, and maybe the terrifying chocolate covered strawberry “turkeys” featured in this list can be one of them!

The idea of Feel Good Fridays started because we believe the simple things that bring a smile to our face are the best things. Smiling and laughing has been proven to reduce stress in our lives! When we smile or laugh it releases neurotransmitters in our brain called endorphins, which are in charge of making us happy and helping to relieve stress!
