Feel Good Friday: O Canada

Jennifer is working for mindyourmind as a Research Associate, she is here on a student placement from Western University in London, ON. As a future librarian she is passionate about connecting people to information and developing resources that help in times of need. Outside of work she loves reading, rugby, and watching terrible movies with her friends.

This week on Feel Good Friday a unique rendition of our national anthem.

The idea of Feel Good Fridays started because we believe the simple things that bring a smile to our face, are the best things. Smiling and laughing has been proven to reduce stress in our lives! When we smile or laugh it releases neurotransmitters in our brain called endorphins, which are in charge of making us happy and helping relieve stress!

Tomorrow is Canada Day so we wanted to honor that here at mindyourmind with something wonderfully Canadian. Instead of the classic jokes about poutine and being polite, we decided to go with something a little different. This lovely video was put together by the Newfoundland tourism board and certainly put a smile on my face today. Using actual recordings of the humpback whales that migrate through the waters around Newfoundland, they have put together a very unique version of our national anthem. Whether or not you are Canadian I hope you have a whale of a time this Canada Day everyone and enjoy the video.

As always if you have any ideas of what we should use in Feel Good Friday please leave us a suggestion in the comments section below.

We will see you next week for the next feel good friday.
