Feel Good Friday: What is in a quote?

Marnie is the Engagement and Partnership Coordinator and has been happily working front line in the mental health field for over a decade. She enjoys a good joke, working at mym and spending time at home relaxing.

What is in a quote? How is it that a few words strung together can be so powerful? I love the way some of these messages get to me and get me to self reflect. Here are some of my favourites (without the pictures of mountains or trees or sunsets-sorry).

“Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory”
          ~ Dr.Seuss

“Well, that's your opinion, isn't it? And I'm not about to waste my time trying to change it.”
         ~ Lady Gaga

“The things that make me different are the things that make me”
         ~ Winnie the Pooh

“Some people arrive and make a beautiful impact on your life, you can barely remember what life was like without them.”
         ~ Anna Taylor

“People will forget what you said, People will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
         ~ Maya Angelou

“I used to think the worst thing in life was to end up alone. It’s not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people who make you feel alone.”
         ~ Robin Williams

“I walk around like everything is fine, but deep down, in my shoe, my sock is sliding off.”
         ~ unknown

“Cupcakes are muffins that believed in miracles.”
         ~ unknown

“Stay away from negative people. They have a problem for every solution.”
         ~ Albert Einstein

Ok, ok, ok, here is one sunset setting behind the mountains and trees to go along with my favourite quotes. I couldn’t resist!

What are some of your favourite quotes that get you to calm down, think or re-group?

P.S. mindyourmind loves #inspo quotes so much that we created the Quote Bloom tool to highlight our faves!

The idea of Feel Good Fridays started because we believe the simple things that bring a smile to our face, are some of the best things. Smiling and laughing has been proven to reduce stress in our lives! When we smile or laugh it releases neurotransmitters in our brain called endorphins, which are in charge of making us happy and helping to relieve stress.
