Elements is a youth mental health and wellness book for young people that uses the four natural elements (earth, fire, water and air) to help you ground, energize, relax, and find inspiration. mindyourmind and TakingITGlobal created Elements in 2021 with 15 youth from across Canada who were alumni of the Canada Service Corps program. Each section of the book draws on a different natural element, inspiring you to think about the connections you may have to each, and empowering you to find strength within yourself and your community. The Elements book is available as a free PDF in English (screen-reader accessible), French and Tlicho.
Inside, you will find:Â
- Guided reflections and introspective promptsÂ
- Mindfulness, grounding and self-care activities to support your mental healthÂ
- Recipes, quotes and pages for identifying your passionsÂ
Who Created the Elements Book?
The Elements book was co-created by young people during the Elements Design Lab in Winter/Spring 2021, a series of virtual sessions where youth chose nature as the book’s theme and shaped its content and visual design.Â
Thank you to our Francophone and English youth team members: Aniqa, Bailey, Daniel, Élise, Ernithe, Fama, Hannah, Jenna, Jocelyn, Kambal, Maël, Raphaël, Sarah, Shania, and Simon. Their contributions reflect diverse youth voices and lived experiences, strengthening the impact and authenticity of this resource.
