Bedouin Soundclash - Interview 2

We interviewed this Canadian reggae / ska band back in 2005, when they were just breaking through to commercial radio airplay with their chart-topping hit single, “When the night feels my song”. In 2006, the song was nominated for Best Single of the year at the Juno Awards. Instead, they took home the award for Best New Group of the Year! The trio prides themselves on creating music that is optimistic and hopeful and their latest album, Light The Horizon, is described by the band as just that, as they look forward with it to new beginnings and limitless possibilities.

Recently, we caught up with Bedouin Soundclash again before their show at London Music Hall (London, ON) and took the band back to their roots, as we talked about the origin of their name and how they got started as a band back in their Queen’s University dorm rooms. Ten years later, they’ve come a long way – find out what’s on iPod, what they can’t live without on tour, what inspired them to cover U2’s “New Year’s Day” and more!

Check out our first interview with vocalist and guitarist Jay Malinowski here.
