Celebrating International Women’s Day

Our team has some amazing, funny, intelligent, nice, cool, trendy, compassionate women! To celebrate International Women’s day, we answered three important questions to share a bit about ourselves. To all the women out there, how are you celebrating today?

Heather

  1. Describe yourself using three words
    Passionate, caring, adventurous
  2. When things get overwhelming, how do you get through it?
Talk it out with a trusted friend. If you can't do that, then do something totally different - a distraction can be most helpful.
  3. What would you tell your younger self?
Life is good! Spend time with people who bring you joy and do what makes you happy in life. Use your gut instinct to make decisions and you won't go wrong.

Elora

  1. Describe yourself using three words
    Kind, resilient, fun-loving
  2. When things get overwhelming, how do you get through it?
I get through hard times by leaning on my friends and family; going to therapy; practicing positive self-talk; and taking care of myself by sleeping and doing self care.
  3. What would you tell your younger self?
I would tell my younger self to keeping pushing through the hard times because brighter days are ahead. I would tell her that there are going to be moments that seem impossible to overcome. But you can and you will overcome them. Lastly, I would remind her that you are capable, good enough and to let things go that hurt you. You don’t have to live in fear and sadness — you can be free to live your life to the fullest. You’re not alone in it either.

Carolyn

  1. Describe yourself using three words
    Kind, honest, silly
  2. When things get overwhelming, how do you get through it?
I breathe. Remind myself what I believe about life & then use my skills to endure when things are really hard; lean on friends/family, meditate, connect with spirit, give myself reiki, talk to my inner circle...everything happens to serve growth toward my highest self, which brings me great comfort in the darkest of times. And the second I can shift, I make sure I spend time laughing and lightening.
  3. What would you tell your younger self?
It's not gonna go according to your plan. And that's okay. Enjoy the journey more instead of worrying about getting to where you want to go. Respect the money you earn. You will have everything you want, when the time is right. Be patient and keep working hard!

Michelle

  1. Describe yourself using three words
    Creative, fun, reliable
  2. When things get overwhelming, how do you get through it?
I do a lot of box breathing and counting. Music is always on in my house but if I'm really stressed I like to get into the car and put on a song really loud that I can yell/sing to. Lately I've been drawing and I'm finding this is helping especially with repetitive patterns.
  3. What would you tell your younger self?
Relax! Your best is what counts. Don't do anything you don't want to. It's ok to say no.

Kathryn

  1. Describe yourself using three words
    Positive, kind, involved
  2. When things get overwhelming, how do you get through it?
I try to take time to de-stress and do nothing. That's not always possible so I will try and do yoga, eat good food and talk to the people I love.
  3. What would you tell your younger self?
I would tell my younger self that she is doing great! Things will work out so try to stress less.

Marnie

  1. Describe yourself using three words
    Funny, sensitive, caring
  2. When things get overwhelming, how do you get through it?
I really try to slow down my worrying or negative self talk and try to appreciate the moment. Things could be much worse for many of us and I feel fortunate to be where I am in life. I worked really hard to be where I am and I take pride in that. Try to take pride in where you are, you deserve some self praise!
  3. What would you tell your younger self?
Watch out for red flags and listen to your gut. Give yourself time to watch and listen to the people around you and follow your instinct about people. It will save you so much heartache in the end. And always save money, trust me, you gotta save!

Talk to the women in your life. How would they answer these questions? We can learn a lot from each other.
