I feel like I’ve been abandoned by you.
I’m like a trophy on the shelf that you only visit when you are lonely and sad and need me
I become dusty on the shelf when you get a new girlfriend or buy some more to drink.
I want you to know I am not a trophy you can just show off to all your friends.
I am not even your trophy, you never raised me or taught me anything.
Mom did all of that- If I’m anyone’s trophy I’m hers.
If you want me to be your trophy child you must make an effort to earn me.
I am not just a trophy. I have feelings and thoughts and ideas.
I need security, not just a few visits a year and some light dusting.
You need to accept that I am not just a shiny medal you have made.
You have created some of the scars and bruises on my heart.
I am not your trophy.
