A few years ago a grade 8 at our school made a film on eating disorders so that’s where we got the idea. Eating disorders are the most deadly mental illness and it’s getting worse. I thought people should be aware of how serious eating disorders are. There’s not a lot of help available in Canada. One of the mother’s we interviewed had to send her daughter to a treatment program in the U.S. She has an organization called National Initiative for Eating Disorders (NIED) and she’s advocating to the government.
Have you ever wondered what the price of perfect is? You see it on advertisements and on T.V. all the time. Society’s “ïdeal body image” is “thin”. We need to change this. This short documentary on eating disorders talks with 2 medical professionals, 2 people who had an eating disorder, the mother of an anorexic and a bulemic.
