Ever have a conversation and an hour later realize that you’re pissed off? Ever have a massive blowout without ever realizing that you were even irritated? Sometimes knowing what we’re feeling in the moment is the hardest thing to figure out. So here’s a way to start looking at how you’re feeling, what your warning signs are for those feelings, and what you can do to change, support, or maintain your levels of tension.
Think about inner tension like liquid inside a barometer. When you’re relaxed it’s at the bottom and as the pressure builds, it moves to the top. Red hot! Tension can be anxiety, anger, excitement, boredom, fear or a mix of feelings that tends to build up. Are you relaxed or are you creeping towards your danger zone? When you’re done, print or email yourself a copy of your responses.
