I was seeing, believing and hearing stuff – and self harming as well and seeing the psychiatrist was okay.
No matter how bad the things you feel, see or hear – TELL the docs – if they know they can help. Docs won’t be shocked or alarmed – they have heard it all before – you won’t be the first and you certainly ain’t going to be the last to hear/see/believe the nasty stuff. OK? Hospital is where I went to get better. Give medical staff a chance – they want people to be better.
Despite bipolar I’ve graduated, played sport for my country, gone with my rock band on tour in the UK and LA. The lyrics of my CD on the Bad Alice site might be something you can relate to. I have also written three books “The Naked Bird Watcher”, “The Snow Globe Journals” and “When Do I Get My Shoelaces Back?” My message is – mental illness can be managed and life can be ok.
Take care.
